As a mailroom clerk, you are responsible for a variety of administrative duties ranging from moderate complexity to repetitive tasks. This includes sorting incoming mail, interdepartmental mail, notices, and memorandums for accurate and timely distribution. You will operate computerized scanning machinery and programs to scan files into an imaging system, perform general scanning, and assist with information retrieval. You will resolve simple problems and refer more difficult items to a senior associate. Additionally, you will assist in assembling data needed for reports, verify information, and check for completeness. Generally, you will work in one functional area but may rotate through other areas for familiarization with broader activities. You will image/microfilm company records to ensure vital records are archived and protected, and check that the imaging process meets quality control standards. You will also retrieve documents as requested and maintain appropriate records. Responsibilities include the distribution of incoming letters, parcels, and express packages to correct areas and individuals, as well as the collection of outgoing letters, parcels, and express packages. You will also determine correct postage and record registered mail and express delivery.
