The Mail Room Clerk is responsible for performing a variety of tasks within the mailroom, including processing, sorting, binding, logging, and delivering mail. This role involves preparing mail packages for shipment, sorting interoffice and regular mail, logging and distributing overnight packages, and maintaining mailroom supply inventories. The clerk will also interact with shipping and receiving vendors and operate various mailroom equipment such as postage meters, mail sorting machines, envelope openers, scanners, mail sealers, and folding machines. Additional duties include attaching filing fees to court documents, performing scanning, binding, and folding projects, attaching checks to outgoing mail, logging certified and returned mail, and affixing and recording postage on registered mail and packages. The position relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform its functions, and the clerk will be assigned other duties as needed.
