About The Position

Senior Metal Bellows is seeking an experienced Machinist for their 2nd shift operations. For over 70 years, the company has been a leader in designing and building custom-engineered metal bellows for demanding industries such as aerospace, defense, and energy. Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Machinist in a precision manufacturing environment.
  • Strong ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Solid understanding of materials, tooling, and machining best practices.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong math and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Safety-first mindset and reliable work habits.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational training or apprenticeship.
  • Experience with CAM programming (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion, Gibbs).
  • Fixture or tooling design experience.
  • Background in aerospace, medical, or other tight-tolerance industries.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve and maintain required Operator Authorization(s) and run high-precision work.
  • Develop, edit, and fine-tune CNC programs.
  • Set up complex fixturing for CNC and manual machines.
  • Set machine origins, work offsets, and tool lengths to specification.
  • Machine components from blueprints, material requests, method sheets, and written work instructions.
  • Machine components to extremely close tolerances, achieving exact squareness, concentricity, parallelism, and finish.
  • Partner with Engineering on custom jobs and process improvements.
  • Select, set, and load tools.
  • Perform first-piece runoffs and validate setups.
  • Measure and inspect in-process and finished parts using micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments.
  • Support and train fellow machinists on setups, best practices, and job-specific tasks.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot CNC issues.
  • Use basic computer systems to record labor transactions and complete required production and quality documentation.
