About The Position

This is a 3PL (Third Party Logistics) company that acts as a "middle man" to ensure freight is moved for their customers from point A to point B. They achieve this by quickly finding carriers (Trucking companies) with available trucks in the locations their customers need. They then work with the carrier to ensure timely pickup and delivery of freight for their customer. They handle customer service throughout the process, so their customers do not have to deal directly with drivers and trucking companies. Their main customers are in the manufacturing industry, and the freight being moved is typically vital parts for plants across the country in the automotive and manufacturing sectors. The current openings are within the operations center across three departments: Delivery Assurance, Freight Forwarding, and Air Charter. All departments have very similar responsibilities and handle different aspects of the customer service and logistics process.

Requirements

Ability to think outside the box.
Strong initiative.
Experience in sales or negotiations.
Experience in a call center or high volume contact center.
Experience in customer sales/retention over the phone.
Clear communication skills.
Close attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Speaking with current customers about their freight shipping needs.
Working with customers to determine the fastest and cheapest shipping methods for their items.
Determining shipping requirements, such as the number of pallets or trucks needed.
Tracking and tracing freight to ensure it reaches its destination.
Problem-solving, critical thinking, and thinking outside the box to address issues as they arise.
Communicating clearly with customers over the phone.
Paying close attention to detail in all aspects of the logistics process.
