Requirements

Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds required.
Ability to read and understand blueprints.
Ability to stand for long periods of time; up to 80% of day.
Ability to become qualified to perform Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures.
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as measurements, diameters, and other basic mechanical calculations.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Nice To Haves

Accreditation from technical school or applicable skilled trades program preferred.
Ability to become a Certified Forklift Operator.

Responsibilities

Fabricating new and replacement parts for durable medical equipment by utilizing the appropriate machinery within each workstation; making adjustments as necessary to produce parts within specifications; assisting in unloading received materials; operating within standard operating procedures (SPOs); completing daily work and maintenance documentation.
Applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
Machining parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, drill presses, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.
Reading and interpreting machining instructions, job orders, and blueprints to determine dimensional specifications, sequences of operations, setups, and tooling requirements.
Selecting and setting cutting speeds, feed rates, depths of cuts, and cutting tools according to machining instructions or knowledge of metal properties.
Ensuring the efficiency and quality of parts by checking accuracy to meet specifications; performing preventive maintenance on equipment and maintaining inventory; adhering to ISO and FDA regulations.
Measuring, examining, and ensuring conformance to specifications through the use of measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and fixed or telescoping gauges.
Maintaining a safe working environment by attending safety training; turning off and locking out equipment not in use; cleaning and maintaining a clean work area.
Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Handling all other duties as assigned in order to contribute to overall success of the company.
