Machinist, Lathe 3 - Weekend Shift/Part-Time
About The Position
FM Industries is a premier manufacturing solutions provider specializing in build to print, precision machined components, anodizing, and engineered thermal spray coatings. We provide customers leading-edge support from prototype to production. This position is for a Weekend Swing Shift Part-Time, working Saturdays and Sundays, 12-hour shifts from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. As a CNC Lathe Machinist 3, you will be required to set up and run the most complex proven or new parts with little to no supervision. You will also assist in the development of new processes and ensure all tooling and fixtures used in the CNC area are adequately designed, cost-effective, and procured in a manner that supports customer deliveries and company budgets.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 to 7 years' work experience.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of vocational education or four years formal apprenticeship preferred.
- Completion of Machine Tool Technology program preferred.
- Associate degree in Machine Tool Technology preferred.
Responsibilities
- Set up and run the most complex proven or new parts with little to no supervision.
- Assist in the development of new processes.
- Ensure all tooling and fixtures used in the CNC area are adequately designed, cost-effective, and procured in a manner that supports customer deliveries and company budgets.
- Manually program machines utilizing proficient knowledge of CNC controls.
- Read blueprints, tooling instructions, and standard charts for specifications.
- Perform first piece inspection accurately.
- Assist in the development of check sheets.
