These are typically 8-hour shifts. Typical rotation: 4 - 5 weeks day shift, followed by one week on each back shift.

Requirements

  • A resume outlining qualifications and experience must be submitted to be considered for this position.
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification preferred.
  • 3 years’ experience as qualified Machinist.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and schematics.
  • Familiarity with lockout/tagout and other OSHA safety standards.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CNC machine knowledge preferred.
  • G&M code knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • The Machinist will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of the mill by repairing and producing spare parts and other wearable components for use across the site.
  • Set up and operate manual and CNC equipment including lathes, milling machines, boring mill, 5 axis mill and related machinery.
  • Program CNC equipment using CAD/CAM (fusion360) as well as DOOSAN EZ Guide
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Analyze specifications and determine machining methods, tooling requirements, and sequence of operations.
  • Fabricate, modify, repair, and assemble tooling, fixtures, and machine components.
  • Evaluate standard tooling and determine necessary modifications or improvements.
  • Develop tooling specifications from general descriptions and create sketches or drawings when required.
  • Apply knowledge of tool design, shop mathematics, and machining processes to meet production requirements.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on department equipment.
  • Operate forklifts or powered hand trucks as needed.
  • Use precision measuring instruments (height gauges, micrometers, calipers, pi tapes, etc.) to ensure dimensional accuracy.
  • Inspect finished components to verify compliance with quality standards.
