About The Position

The senior manual Machinist role in Fremont, CA involves performing complex set-ups and operating machines across multiple areas, including manual lathe and mill machines. Buffs, polishes, deburrs, may have experience in small and large saw and tube bending. This position requires operating complex equipment safely, ensuring precision and adherence to quality standards, and following proper PPE protocols. The Machinist will maintain accurate documentation computer systems. The ideal candidates have 4–5 years of manufacturing experience, strong mechanical aptitude, math and geometry skills. Shift is Monday through Friday 6am - 2:30pm.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate a variety of tools and machines
  • Visual and manual dexterity
  • Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Basic computer skills, working knowledge of ERP system (Oracle cloud a plus), MS Outlook
  • Strong math skills
  • Solid understanding of mechanics, flow control elements, and MRP concepts
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop and lift up to 50 lbs
  • 4-5 years manufacturing or related work experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Vocational or Technical Training or a combination of the equivalent
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to follow established procedures and safety guidelines
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOP), policies and safety regulations
  • Excellent teamwork and problem solving skills
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new techniques
  • Good verbal written and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Tube Bending experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex set-ups and operate manual mill and lathe machines, using STT stock and tubing to manufacture parts to inch and metric specifications.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications
  • Ability to follow schedules, shop instructions or orders, and adapt to changing priorities
  • Fit, align, and adjust machines or assemblies to meet required tolerances and product operating requirements.
  • Operate shop equipment including air and electric drivers, ultrasonic wash equipment, and perform deburring of parts.
  • Follow schedules, shop orders, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and manufacturing documentation.
  • Perform 1st Article inspection.
  • Performs layout and precision inspection using measuring devices, calipers, height gauges, and protractors.
  • Identify deviations that could impact productivity and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Work safely and efficiently while following all PPE requirements and participating in safety programs that maintain a clean and safe work environment. (PPE may include uniform shirts, safety boots, hairnets/headcovers/face shields, gloves, etc.)
  • May work in a cleanroom environment all or part of the shift.
  • Maintain logs and required documentation using required computer systems.
  • Demonstrate strong troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • May assist others to use the best method to achieve results in a safe and timely manner.
