About The Position

Power Mechanical, Inc. is seeking a hardworking, career-oriented person of good character to fill a Machinist position within our organization. The Machinist is responsible for, but not limited to, the following machining and mechanical tasks: Trouble shooting, diagnosing, repairing, and testing machinery with minimal supervision. Operating conventional machinery, such as: Mill, Lathe, Saw, and Grinders. Making replacement parts and small production runs. Ability to measure using various instruments. Drill and tap holes. Machine parts by instruction of sketches and blueprints. Ability to repair existing parts. Make fixtures for production parts. Create the desired surface finish on parts. Replacing bearings and bushings. Setting rotor clearances. Testing and repairing pressure controls. Rebuilding electric motors up to 100 horsepower. Tool repair. Making reliable modifications to improve machinery. Rebuilding and testing air compressors and valves. Repairing control devices and select pumps. Employee will quickly learn the industry as they progress in their position. Requirements

  • A high school diploma or an equivalent
  • Basic math skills and be proficient in geometry and algebra
  • Excellent customer service and effective communication skills
  • Regular prolonged standing
  • Regular lifting of 50 lbs.
  • Regular bending, kneeling, stooping
  • Regular twisting/turning
  • Regular reaching and working overhead
  • Frequent pushing/pulling 50 lbs.
  • Occasional work in high noise situations
  • Occasional work at elevations over 4 feet
  • Candidate should be willing and able to learn, be dependable, and have a good work ethic.
  • Must have a professional demeanor, be punctual, and a team player who is focused and self-driven.
  • Passing all background checks.

Nice To Haves

  • Post-secondary training or certification is preferred
  • Welding certifications
  • Mechanical or electrical background is preferred
