About The Position

To operate machining tools to produce metal parts and components that meet precise specifications for Research & Development (R&D) and Production.

Requirements

  • Must be a team player, friendly, detail-oriented, and honest
  • Must have the ability to: Multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize in a fast-paced working environment
  • Work within tolerance as specified by drawings, prints or verbal instruction
  • Work with precision tools and measuring devices including micrometers, calipers, and height gages
  • Read and comprehend work instructions and prints
  • Use hand tools and standard power tools
  • Set up and operate milling machines, lathes, grinders, press brakes, shears, and drill presses
  • Be cross trained for multiple jobs within assigned work area(s)
  • Lift/push/pull 50lbs
  • Must have: Relentless drive to achieve advancement and continuous improvement
  • A willingness to learn and/or adapt to new work methods
  • Excellent math skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of sheet metal fabrication
  • Basic knowledge of Press Brake operation
  • At least 1 year of experience as a machinist operating machine tools such as milling machines, lathes, grinders, press brakes, shears, and/or drill presses
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now, or in the future

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of programming CNC Machining Centers both visually and offline preferred
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of TIG and MIG Welding preferred
  • At least 3 years as a machinist operating machine tools such as milling machines, lathes, grinders, press brakes, shears, and drill presses preferred
  • At least 1 year of experience tube bending and performing CNC Operations preferred
  • At least 1 year of welding experience including the use of MIG, TIG, and aluminum preferred
  • At least 1 year of experience with CAD or 3D Modeling design preferred
  • At least 1 year of experience programming CNC Machines preferred
  • Current or previous successful employment experience with Pride Mobility Products Corporation preferred
  • Technical school training in CNC programming or machining preferred

Responsibilities

  • Program and safely operate CNC Machining Centers, Water Jet, Press Brake, Tube Bending and other machines
  • Perform preventative maintenance on CNC equipment
  • Operator manual milling machine with tight tolerances precision
  • Efficiently fabricate and modify parts to print specification
  • Review drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate production
  • Take precise measurements for cutting or shaping
  • Properly assemble and weld prototypes to blueprint or drawing specifications
  • Select appropriate machine and settings for each task
  • Inspect finished parts and components for flaws or defects
  • Cross train in other functions of the Machine Shop as necessary
  • Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents or injuries are promptly reported to management
  • Complete the annual CTPAT Security Training
  • Focus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment
  • Work effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectations
  • Assist with organization and cleaning of work area, keeping aisles and walkways clear at all times
  • Pride retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary
