About The Position

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is looking for experienced CNC machinists to staff on-site machine shop. This position supports engineering groups by manufacturing hardware that improves factory robotics, electromechanical systems, and specialized tooling. The machinist will be responsible for taking parts from model and drawing to completion. The role requires you to be able to display expertise in GD&T, programing, set up, CNC operation, and metrology.

Requirements

3+ years experience or related degree.
In depth understanding of GD&T is required.
Work holding setup best practices.
Experience with machining aluminum, stainless steel, and plastics.
Ability to communicate trade ideas to coworkers.

Nice To Haves

NGC Controller experience beneficial.
Aerospace, oil & gas, automotive, or tool/mold experience a plus.
Autodesk HSM/Inventor CAM experience a plus.

Responsibilities

Understand a part's requirements based on AMSE Y14.5 based drawings.
Plan work-holding methodology.
Program tool-paths utilizing HSM.
Set up and operate various CNC machines.
Use metrology tools required to validate parts are manufactured within tolerance.
Document work via project database and periodic reports.
Ability to lift.
