About The Position

This role involves operating and maintaining manual and computerized deburring and tooling machines to perform various machining operations. The machinist will be responsible for setting up machines, monitoring their operation for accuracy and to detect malfunctions, and inspecting work pieces throughout the production run. Additionally, the role requires maintaining inventory of raw materials and ensuring a clean work area.

Requirements

• Proficient English reading and writing skills.
• Able to read and comprehend MSDS sheets and standard work instructions.
• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in machining.
• Thorough operational knowledge and skills of specific CNC mills and lathes to be operated with the ability to calculate and set machine controls either manually or by entering commands.
• Ability to operate assigned equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ability to set up machine independently with no supervision.
• Ability to keep record of parts made.
• Ability to use precision measuring tools and equipment, read drawings and blueprints, and be familiar with common machine and measuring tools, including micrometers and calipers.
• Ability to effectively communicate with team members.
• Ability to work independently with moderate guidance.
• Delivers quality work consistently.
• Recognize and solve problems; evaluates and selects solutions from established options.

Responsibilities

• Sets up machine and observes machine operation to verify accuracy of machine settings and to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, using precision measuring instruments such as micrometer and caliper.
• Sets up and controls operation of manual and computerized deburring and tooling machines to perform series of machining operations, such as drilling, chamfering, and deburring.
• Inspects "first part” and inspects work pieces throughout the production run for out-of-tolerance machining.
• Responsibly maintains inventory for raw materials consumed on jobs and work orders so that parts can be re-ordered within appropriate lead times.
• Clean machine and work area.
