Machinist, Manual 1 - Swing Shift
About The Position
FM Industries is a premier manufacturing solutions provider specializing in build-to-print, precision machined components, anodizing, and engineered thermal spray coatings. We provide customers with leading-edge support from prototype to production. This position is responsible for setting up and running low to moderate complexity proven or new parts with little to no supervision. The role involves utilizing shop paper procedures, reading blueprints, and potentially assisting in new process development. The machinist will program, set-up, and run assigned work, and perform first-piece inspections.
Requirements
- 1-2 years’ related work experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of theoretical and practical aspects of blueprint reading, GD&T.
- Basic knowledge of accepted inspection practices
- Demonstrated ability to operate computer numerical control machines.
Responsibilities
- Utilizing shop paper procedure including updates, signatures, and stamps, counting quantities, labeling and non-conformance-related activities.
- Read blueprints, tooling instructions, and standard charts for specifications.
- May assist in the development of new processes.
- Program, set-up, and run all facets of work assigned.
- Perform first-piece inspection accurately and assist in developing check sheets.
