About The Position

We are looking for a talented Machinist - Level II to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Cummins Inc. facility in Fridley, MN.

Requirements

  • Accurately read and interpret part drawings.
  • Use machine tool equipment with minimal guidance to meet precise specifications.
  • Adhere to HSE standards.
  • Proactively identify hazards.

  • Support equipment uptime.
  • Perform failure analysis.
  • Execute preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities.
  • Follow process documentation.
  • Conduct inspections.
  • Use measuring and testing instruments to verify workmanship and compliance.
  • Operate and maintain a wide range of tool room equipment, including CNC machines, lathes, grinders, milling machines, drill presses, and shapers.
  • Build, repair, and assemble components.
  • Identify manufacturing constraints.
  • Solve problems.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform routine housekeeping.
  • Clean machines.
  • Align maintenance schedules with production needs.
  • Communicate effectively across teams.
  • Actively participate in TPM activities.
  • Complete training to support ongoing development, safety, and process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality components by accurately reading and interpreting part drawings, using machine tool equipment with minimal guidance to meet precise specifications.
  • Support safe operations by adhering to HSE standards, proactively identifying hazards, using proper PPE, and immediately reporting risks, incidents, or unsafe conditions.
  • Contribute to equipment reliability by supporting uptime, performing failure analysis, and executing preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities.
  • Ensure consistent quality by following process documentation, conducting inspections, and using measuring and testing instruments to verify workmanship and compliance.
  • Operate and maintain a wide range of tool room equipment, including CNC machines, lathes, grinders, milling machines, drill presses, and shapers, to build, repair, and assemble components.
  • Improve operational efficiency by identifying manufacturing constraints, solving problems, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity and reduce cost or quality risks.
  • Maintain an organized and efficient workspace by performing routine housekeeping, machine cleaning, and aligning maintenance schedules with production needs.
  • Strengthen team performance by communicating effectively across teams, actively participating in TPM activities, and completing training to support ongoing development, safety, and process improvements.
