About The Position

dormakaba is seeking a first shift (6:00AM-2:30PM) Machinist II based in Indianapolis, IN. The Machinist II is responsible for performing machine setups, tool changes, and adjusting as necessary. This position may provide training to lower-level machinists. This position includes a competitive benefits package. $2,000 Sign-on Bonus (details provided during interview).

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Extensive experience operating and setting up machines, performing tool changes, etc.
Ability to perform advanced quality inspections and read/interpret blueprints
Professional communication skills

Nice To Haves

SAP or Enterprise system knowledge
An understanding in the application of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and similar quality control concepts
Experience operating a forktruck
Computer proficiency and lean skills
Documented manufacturing education/training
Understanding of shop math

Responsibilities

Follow operation instructions; operate machine according to standard operating instructions
Operate machine(s) safely and communicate any problems which arise to the supervisor/lead person
Perform machine setups, tool changes, and make adjustments as necessary
Monitor, maintain, weigh, and safely add chemicals as required
Perform minor troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of the equipment
