About The Position

This Auburn based plant manufactures Couplings with a growing high functioning team and a safe laid-back work environment. In this job you will assist with the set-up, programming, operation, and adjustment of conventional or automatic machines such as Computer Numeric Controlled (CNC) machines. In this role you will work from drawings and written instructions to create replacement and new parts in making repairs to metal parts as well as for experimental apparatus or prototype equipment and read CNC programs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and prints.
  • Ability to work in auto cad including work with computers, hand tools and measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers and tape measures.
  • Ability to write CNC programs.
  • Ability to set up and operate manual lathes and other machines according to precise tolerances.
  • Ability to change tooling, set up machines according to required machining sequences.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic maintenance skills.
  • Ability to work and run your machine with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • 0-1 year of machining experience preferred
  • Technical training or coursework in machining is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist in operating CNC machines under guidance from senior machinists
  • Perform basic setups and tool changes with or without supervision
  • Conduct simple measurements using calipers, micrometers, and tape measures
  • Follow engineering prints and work instructions with support
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area
  • Perform basic inspections and report any irregularities
  • Adhere to safety protocols and operational guidelines
  • Support production goals by completing assigned tasks efficiently
  • Other duties as assigned
