About The Position

The Machinist I operates multiple moderately complex machines for production parts and basic fabrication tasks within assigned areas under minimal supervision, following established instructions and receiving support from a Unit Specialist or trainer. The role includes setting up, operating, and troubleshooting manual and CNC machines, secondary machinery, and polish equipment. The machinist independently troubleshoots select equipment and uses general CNC programming knowledge to edit programs as needed to meet blueprint specifications. The position produces and inspects parts to blueprints, operational notes, and standard work instructions; maintains quality, safety, and productivity standards; performs routine preventive maintenance; and supports material movement and production flow. The machinist also contributes to continuous improvement, communicates across shifts, implements process and tooling improvements, and trains Machine Operators I and II as assigned. This role requires routine handling of materials and tools, repetitive manual dexterity, and the ability to work on foot and in varied positions throughout a shift. Some work areas may involve exposure to chemicals, noise, vibration, or dust and require appropriate personal protective equipment, including respiratory protection when applicable. A background check and drug screen for illegal drug use are required. Applicants for U.S.-based positions must be authorized to work in the United States; A-dec cannot sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas.
