About The Position

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Machinist/Fabricator C for the 2nd Shift. This role is responsible for operating machinery to produce turbine engine parts, performing assembly and finishing operations, and conducting braze fabrication. Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • 6 months of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate one machine or equipment type.
  • Operate other machines or equipment types to produce turbine engine parts, where methods and processes are well developed, and proper tooling and fixturing is provided.
  • Work from operation sheets, drawings, computer generated information, and verbal instructions.
  • Obtain specified equipment, tools and gages to machine, fabricate and finish a variety of production turbine engine parts.
  • Perform bench assembly and finishing operations, as assigned using a variety of handheld tools, power tools, and other equipment to process parts during various stages of manufacturing operations.
  • Perform braze fabrication operations such as assembly, sizing, application of braze paste, tape or powder and resistance tack welding.
  • Perform light and water checks on brazed honeycomb assemblies and reoperate parts which have been rejected following prescribed repair instructions and standard practices and procedures.
  • Assist others responsible for new part process tryout, repair and other specialized assignments within the scope and skill level of this job description.
  • Refer difficulties to leader/supervisor.
  • May be assigned to carry out tasks not specifically listed within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individual skills.
  • May be required to train for, obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits and certifications within assigned area.
