Our Landing Systems division is seeking a Plater responsible for performing mechanical blasting and preparation of parts for processing lines such as chrome, nickel, cadmium, and others. Duties include sandblasting, degreasing, stopoff, racking components, and ensuring parts are properly prepared for finishing operations. Position is 100% onsite at Opa Locka (Miami), FL. Work Shift: Second Shift is 2:45pm- 11:15pm AM Monday – Friday. Overtime as business needs determine. Training will take place for 4-8 weeks on First Shift, 5:45am - 2:15 pm, Monday –Friday.

Requirements

Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline

Nice To Haves

Experience in interpreting and understanding machines codes
Experience in Manual Machine
Experience working in Aerospace or MRO Facility
Machine Trade School a Plus
Experience in manufacturing industry or machine shop

Responsibilities

Produces machine parts by programming, assembling, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) or manual machine (Lathes, Mills, Grinders, and other specialized CNC and manual machines
Interprets blueprints, work orders, engineering plans, specifications, reference planes, designs sketches and geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) for operation, material, and dimensional requirements
Assembles, repairs, and fabricates metal parts into sub-units or complete units using operating mechanical equipment
Takes measurements of material and selects appropriate machines for the process
Performs machining setups and makes adjustments as required
Conducts inspections of work produced
Checks SPC charts for frequency of checks, gauging and measurements
Keeps records and maintains quality/safety standards

Supports and follows all rules/guidelines/standards set by EHS, Quality and CI functions as set by assigned leader and position
Perform other duties as assigned including working extended shifts/overtime as required by the business
