About The Position

We are seeking an experienced CNC External Thread Grinder to join our precision manufacturing team specializing in Lead Screw and Ball Screw Manufacturing. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC thread grinding equipment to manufacture high-precision threaded components that meet engineering specifications and customer quality standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of G-code editing and machine offsets.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to use sound judgment and reasoning in all situations.
  • Ability to prioritize, managing time and workload efficient and effectively, while holding high standards, and attention to detail.
  • Advanced math skills required
  • Ability to read precision gages: micrometers, calipers, etc
  • Ability to read a ruler or tape measure
  • Ability to read and interpret part prints
  • Ability to program in g-code and conversational programming languages

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating CNC External Thread Grinding equipment is strongly preferred.
  • Experience manufacturing Lead Screws, Ball Screws, Acme Threads, or other precision threaded products.
  • Experience with CNC thread grinding equipment.
  • Knowledge of cylindrical grinding processes.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems.
  • Experience with Mori Seiki, Doosan, or similar CNC equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC external thread grinding machines.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work instructions, and job travelers.
  • Perform machine setups, tool changes, offsets, and program adjustments as needed.
  • Load and properly secure raw materials.
  • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain quality and production efficiency.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, and other inspection tools.
  • Verify parts meet dimensional, thread profile, and surface finish specifications.
  • Troubleshoot machining and grinding issues.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance.
  • Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
