About The Position

Bendel Tank and Heat Exchanger, LLC, a division of TransTech Group, LLC is a growing company servicing the Chemical and Industrial markets. To keep up with growing demand, we are looking to add to our team, to assist with and work towards further developing our footprint. Bendel is a manufacturer of stainless steel and alloy vessels and heat exchangers up to 75,000 gallons and 15’ diameter. The Machinist – CNC Quickmill Operator is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC and manual machining equipment, including a 3-axis Quickmill, VTL, horizontal lathe, and radial arm drill press. This role interprets technical drawings, programs Fanuc-controlled machinery, designs and fabricates machining fixtures, and ensures all work is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently. The position also supports production scheduling and workflow priorities while safely operating forklifts, cranes, and rigging equipment to meet manufacturing objectives and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Must have a good working knowledge of tooling.
  • Proficient with machining practices and measurement techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layouts.
  • Use specialized welding equipment including TIG, MIG, and Plasma cutters.
  • Fit, Fabricate and Weld components to tanks and vessels such as nozzles, manways, ladders, handrails, and platforms. Pipe joints, tube to tube sheets, and thermal jackets.
  • Follow and enforce strict shop safety regulations such as wearing safety glasses, heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes.
  • Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions
  • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment.
  • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety. Good housekeeping
  • Work 40 hrs./week minimum plus OT as needed based on workload. Current work week is 48/wk. M-F.
  • Work with Team members to ensure top quality and high standards while welding on S.S., C.S. and High Nickel alloys.
  • Set up, program, and operate CNC and manual machining equipment, including a 3-axis Quickmill, VTL, horizontal lathe, and radial arm drill press.

  • Set up, run and adjust machine tools and equipment to achieve the correct size and finish while staying within tolerances.
  • Measure machined components to verify dimensional requirements.
