About The Position

This role involves setting up and operating CNC lathe machines to meet daily production and quality requirements. The machinist will follow company quality control standards, including in-process inspection and documentation, and must model safe behaviors. Responsibilities include monitoring the machining of metal parts to print specifications, adjusting programs, and performing offsets. This position is subject to compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), requiring the incumbent to be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or have refugee or asylee status.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • At least five years of current CNC lathe setup experience.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints.
  • Ability to set up machines.
  • Ability to edit offsets within programs.
  • Ability to perform tool offset adjustments as required to machine specialty bearings.
  • Ability to inspect dimensions machined, including threads, inner diameters, outer diameters, lengths, widths, and undercuts/grooves.
  • Ability to inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering prints.
  • Ability to make decisions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
  • Must be a quick learner.
  • Ability to give, receive, and follow written and verbal instructions in English and communicate job-related information to others.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision.
  • Must be either a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident ('green card' holders) or have refugee or asylee status due to ITAR/EAR compliance.

Nice To Haves

  • Formal CNC training experience preferred.
