Requirements

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2-year post-secondary/Associates Degree with 0-2 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to work well in a team.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good problem-solving.
  • Good communication.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen to obtain a security clearance.
  • Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Proof of employment authorization will be required.
  • Only applications from “U.S. persons” within the meaning of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and Export Administration Regulations will be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Haas, Mitsubishi, Milltronic control experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the setup and operating of vertical mills making tool adjustments for a variety of major automatic machines.
  • Works from blueprints and process sheets to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions.
  • Checks and inspects machining operations against specified tolerances.
  • May also make recommendations concerning use of and improvement upon materials and design.
  • Setup and operate CNC vertical mills using work offsets, tool height offsets, and familiarity with cutter compensation.
  • Light G code editing when required.
  • Inspect your own work/parts before giving to inspection dept. and during in process inspection.
  • Ability to work to and hold close tolerances.
  • Determines proper feed and speed adjustments if needed.
