Requirements

2+ years of experience
Pre-employment certificate in machinist trade
Valid Driver’s License
Ability to operate a forklift and overhead crane
Mechanical inclination
Aptitude for working with tools, equipment, and metal
Reliable track record at previous employment
Proof of all relevant qualifications
Available to participate in a pre-employment testing procedure
Permanent residents or citizens of Canada, residing in Canada

Responsibilities

Set up and operate horizontal saws to cut bar stock according to specifications.
Read and interpret basic blueprints to ensure accurate cuts.
Load and unload materials onto the saw machine.
Move material through Kanban stations based on job traveler requirements.
Assist machinists in loading and unloading parts from manufacturing machines.
Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes to transport materials to and from storage areas and workstations.
Perform daily checks on forklift and crane equipment to ensure safe operation.
Inspect finished pieces to ensure they meet quality and measurement specifications.
Adjust machine settings as necessary to maintain quality.
Complete autonomous maintenance of equipment as per daily checklists.
Maintain equipment and ensure the work area is always clean and safe.
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain accurate records of production output and any issues encountered.
Complete necessary paperwork for inventory and production tracking.
Coordinate with supervisors and other team members to ensure production goals are met.
Communicate any issues or suggestions for process improvements.
Look for ways to improve production efficiency and reduce waste.
Assist with continuous improvement projects under the direction of the team leader.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
