IMMEDIATE OPENING – FULL OR PART TIME POSITION MACHINIST / ASSEMBLER Local Candidates Only Diversified Technologies, Inc. Our exceptional engineers and scientists collaborate to develop the world’s most powerful radar transmitters, pulsed power units for state-of-the-art processing in food, energy and wastewater, and advanced R&D for national laboratories. DTI is seeking a Machinist / Assembler to join its growing, high-technology business. This is a great opportunity for someone eager to work in a challenging, innovative, fast-paced technical organization based in Bedford, Massachusetts.

Requirements

Ten years as machinist, ideally in a research and development environment
Experience as a mechanic or electromechanical technician desired
Able to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings and job orders
Demonstrated familiarity with measuring tools, hand tools, power tools and associated safety requirements
Able to fabricate parts from sketches and hand drawings.
Knowledge of machining steel, aluminum, G10 fiberglass, plastics, and other materials
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team setting with attention to detail
U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

Responsibilities

Set up and operate manual machines such as lathes, milling machines, bench grinders, sheet metal shear and break
Fabricate and rework parts for prototype and production assemblies
Read drawings, plan efficient steps for cutting and finishing operations
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Perform routine equipment maintenance
Assist engineers with design and assembly of electro-mechanical components
Read and understand the schematic diagrams, product manuals, and process documents
Assist with building test set ups in a lab setting
Review bills of material, and perform pre- and post-assembly component inspections
