Machinist Apprentice
About The Position
Moog’s Military Aircraft Group is excited to hire a cohort of 8–10 Machinist Apprentices to begin in Fall 2026. This structured apprenticeship program is designed to develop the next generation of skilled machinists through a combination of classroom learning and hands-on experience. This is more than a job; it’s a long-term career opportunity. Apprentices will join us at a pivotal time as we transition from our current shop floor into a new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, gaining exposure to modern equipment, evolving processes, and advanced aerospace manufacturing.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to work any shift (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) as required by the program
- Willingness to balance work schedule with coursework requirements
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months of experience or exposure to a manufacturing or production environment
- Mechanical aptitude and interest in hands-on work
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
Responsibilities
- Train alongside experienced machinists in a precision manufacturing environment
- Learn to operate CNC and manual machining equipment
- Develop skills in blueprint reading, measurements, and geometric tolerancing
- Gain experience across multiple shifts and areas to build well-rounded capabilities
- Contribute to real production work supporting critical aerospace programs
- Be part of a team supporting the transition to a new manufacturing facility
