Trace-A-Matic is hiring a Machinist Apprentice, see below: As a Machinist Apprentice, you will work under the close supervision of journey-level machinists to set up and operate manual and CNC machines to produce precision parts.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Must be 18 years old.
Understanding of shop math (decimals, fractions, geometry—trigonometry a plus). There will be a test given!
Ability to read or learn to read technical drawings and blueprints.
Strong mechanical aptitude and desire to work with your hands.
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to read, understand and follow work instructions in English.

Nice To Haves

Prior machining experience is a plus.
Veteran of the U.S. Military is a plus.

Responsibilities

Assist in setting up and operating manual and CNC lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gages, bore gages, etc.) to ensure parts meet specifications.
Adhere to all safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work area (5S).
Attend required related technical instruction (classroom training) and apply knowledge to daily shop operations.
