About The Position

Astemo Rock Spring, Inc. was established in 2000 and supplies aluminum knuckles to Honda and Subaru. We are located in Rock Spring, GA, and operate on 3 shifts with 400 employees. We have three main manufacturing departments: Casting, Machining, and Press Assembly. We are part of Astemo, inc. with 90,000 employees worldwide. This full-time, non-exempt position is responsible for visual quality checks, loading and unloading CNC machines, and general upkeep of the machining department. The role requires flexibility to work where needed within the machining department and to support other departments as necessary. Adherence to company goals including safety, environmental compliance, quality, production, and delivery performance is essential.

Requirements

  • Visual quality check of raw cast aluminum products
  • Visual quality check of machined aluminum products
  • Loading of raw cast aluminum product into manual CNC machine
  • Unloading of machined product from CNC machine
  • Loading conveyor with machined aluminum products
  • End of shift area clean up – or as needed
  • Must be able to work where needed in the machining department
  • Must be able to support other departments as and when needed
  • Assist any line leaders, supervisors, managers in other tasks assigned
  • Report for additional work to the immediate supervisor if all assigned tasks are complete
  • Promote a safety first attitude and provide a safe work environment by following all required OSHA regulations
  • Maintain work areas to ensure safe and clean working conditions
  • Correct unsafe work conditions immediately when possible
  • Ensure the in process and the final product meets customer and Astemo Rock Spring quality specifications
  • Follow work instructions, point cards and communicate defects appropriately and immediately when quality issues occur
  • Follow the STOP, CALL, WAIT procedures
  • Complete planned production quantities as required
  • Achieve planned production quantities by communicating issues, following work instructions, working as a team, preventing interruptions, and suggesting improvements
  • Report safety incidents or near misses, issues with equipment or quality concerns, and workflow interruptions
  • Report monthly “Ask Here” to help make Hitachi Astemo Rock Spring better
  • Good problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills, able to build friendly work relationships
  • Familiar with manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Requires occasional lifting of weights up to 40 pounds
  • Requires associate to work inside and outside of machining centers when necessary

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred 2 years of experience with forklift operations
