About The Position

Astemo Rock Spring, Inc., established in 2000, supplies aluminum knuckles to Honda and Subaru. Located in Rock Spring, GA, the company operates on 3 shifts with 400 employees across three main manufacturing departments: Casting, Machining, and Press Assembly. Astemo Rock Spring is part of the global Astemo, Inc. network, which has 90,000 employees worldwide. This full-time, non-exempt position is within the Machining department and reports to the Machining Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Visual quality check of raw cast aluminum products
  • Visual quality check of machined aluminum products
  • Loading of raw cast aluminum product into manual CNC machine
  • Unloading of machined product from CNC machine
  • Loading conveyor with machined aluminum products
  • End of shift area clean up – or as needed
  • Must be able to work where needed in the machining department
  • Must be able to support other departments as and when needed
  • Assist any line leaders, supervisors, managers in other tasks assigned
  • Report for additional work to the immediate supervisor if all assigned tasks are complete
  • Work toward meeting overall company goals including OSHA safety compliance, ISO 14001 Environmental Compliance, Ethical & Legal compliance, Customer Quality, Production to Plan, and Delivery Performance.
  • Promote a safety first attitude and provide a safe work environment by obtaining knowledge and following all required OSHA regulations.
  • Maintain work areas to ensure safe and clean working conditions.
  • Correct unsafe work conditions immediately when possible.
  • Ensure the in process and the final product meets customer and Astemo Rock Spring quality specifications.
  • Follow work instructions, point cards and communicate defects appropriately and immediately when quality issues occur.
  • Follow the STOP, CALL, WAIT procedures.
  • Complete planned production quantities as required.
  • Achieve planned production quantities by communicating issues to the line lead or supervisor immediately, following work instructions, working as a team, promoting teamwork, preventing interruptions to work flow and productivity, and suggesting improvements to productivity, quality, safety etc.
  • Report safety incidents or near misses, issues with equipment or quality concerns, and workflow interruptions.
  • Report monthly “Ask Here” to help make Hitachi Astemo Rock Spring better.

Nice To Haves

  • Good problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills, able to build friendly work relationships
  • Familiar with manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Preferred 2 years of experience with forklift operations.
