About The Position

Operate computer programmable/controlled machines to perform a series of progressive machining operations in the manufacturer of Aircraft Engine Parts. Working at our West Jefferson Facility For more than 18 years, our manufacturing facilities in West Jefferson have been the driving force behind the growth and success of GE Aerospace. With over 200,000 square feet of manufacturing space and an advanced mix of CNC machines, Inspection equipment and special processes, we produce high-quality rotating parts for commercial and military aircraft engines. Requirements

  • Must have at least a HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with computer systems such as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Requires the ability to use simple blueprints, simple arithmetic such as addition and subtraction of decimals and fractions, and the use of precision measuring instruments.
  • Requires the ability to work from detailed instructions and planning.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining.

Nice To Haves

  • At least two years of related experience in manufacturing or 2-year degree in a related field.
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to learn new tasks quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machines or Inspection equipment or Special processes.
  • Actively participate in daily team meetings and activities, practicing direct professional communication with team members and contributing to a positive team dynamic.
  • Accurately account for your time using the prescribed system, electronically maintain records, logbooks, and charts, and produce electronic or manual reports.
  • Obtain and maintain the CVP certification, with training provided to support your professional growth.
  • Accurately serialize parts to maintain traceability at all times, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Achieve all required tolerances and finishes that meet standards set by Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Assurance, ensuring all characteristics generated at designated operations are conforming through applicable inspection techniques.
  • Perform set-up and operation of equipment according to drawings, method sheets, and occasionally supplement this information with your own job knowledge.
  • Utilize cranes, and material handling equipment to lift or carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs, following proper ergonomic procedures.
