About The Position

Under the supervision of skilled machine operators, the Apprentice will learn all aspects of fastener manufacturing as it relates to drilling. Apprentices will learn to set-up and operate machines safely, check and record quality, maintain a clean and organized work area, and support the team as required.

  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to handle physical workload
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to read blueprints for parts
  • Basic Math Skills

Responsibilities

  • Participate and learn during hands-on training of the Apprenticeship Program
  • Learn machine set up procedures from an assigned mentor
  • Check and record quality per department procedures
  • Keep machines and work area clean
  • Follow all procedures and work instructions
  • Maintain good production numbers, low scrap, and high pieces/pounds
  • Operate assigned equipment
  • Setup new work orders on assigned equipment
  • Troubleshoot issues on assigned equipment
  • Achieve high production efficiency
  • Maintain high levels of product quality
  • Maintain low levels of scrap
  • Minimize tool usage
  • Maintain proper housekeeping (5S) for assigned areas of responsibility
  • Work effectively with fellow team members
