This role will perform a variety of activities which involve standard procedures. Captures and manipulates common data, verifies adequacy and appropriateness; develops charts, diagrams, and standard reports. In technical or production positions, may also set up and operate standard electronic or mechanical equipment used to develop, produce and/or test products or process data. Additional responsibilities may include Inspecting machined or partially machined parts, using predetermined methods and sequences to ensure compliance with customer and company specifications and quality requirements; devises setups to measure the accuracy of compound angles, exacting tolerances, and numerous dimensions. Works from drawings, sketches, and specification. Analyzes defective parts to determine cause of defect and recommends corrective action. May determine method and sequences necessary to perform inspections. May inspect first run and production parts where standard checking devices are not available and special inspection tools and layouts are required. May improvise or adapt inspection measuring instruments as needed. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Typically requires considerable knowledge of machining operation and some experience.
