About The Position

The Machine Utility works as part of a team supporting a manufacturing operation, with the goal of increasing productivity and reducing downtime and waste. The role supports plant and facilities-related work and assists with jobs across the plant floor. The position is located at 222 Celtic Dr, Madison, Alabama, and works a second-shift schedule of 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday, on a four-day workweek. The pay rate is $19.44 per hour, plus a $0.50 shift differential.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• Willingness to work first and second shifts.
• Good attendance record.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Willingness to work closely with other production personnel on a day-to-day basis.
• Ability to share ideas with others to solve important problems.
• Excellent communication skills, including strong verbal communication.
• Ability to thrive in a cross-functional team environment.
• Sense of urgency in reducing machine downtime.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple requests simultaneously.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a packaging or other manufacturing environment.
• Understanding that temperatures and work volumes may vary.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team supporting manufacturing operations and efforts to increase productivity and decrease downtime and waste.
• Take an active role in plant and facilities-related work and assist with jobs on the plant floor.
• Follow company safety rules and lock-out/tag-out procedures.
• Maintain the shop and shop equipment according to 5S standards.
• Stack parts weighing up to 30 pounds for periods of up to 12 hours, as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
