Machine Technician
About The Position
Perform a variety of routine and technical production tasks following prescribed methods and procedures with little or no supervision. Provide guidance and training to lower skilled personnel. Maintain work, product and process flow for designated area. Ability to read and follow detailed instructions on routine tasks. Perform basic mathematical computations using decimals and fractions. Legible penmanship and accurate completion of reports, charts, and other documents. Ability to use a variety of precision measuring instruments and devices, such as but not limited to micrometers, plug gages, dial indicators, hardness testers, air and electronic gages, electronic data collection equipment, etc. Ability to visually inspect and measure parts being produced. Read and interpret drawings and blueprints. Consistently demonstrate production skills and knowledge on product, equipment, processes, routines and procedures. Good organizational skills are needed to maintain work area and set priorities according to daily production requirements. Good communication skills are needed to effectively train lower skilled personnel and maintain information flow to supervision and across shifts. Maintain a safe working area to ensure the safety of self and other team members, with ability to identify potential safety and environmental hazards and communicate immediately to Leaders.
