This is a hands-on shop role based on-site. The Machine Shop Technician will be responsible for setting up and operating various machining equipment, programming 5-axis machining operations, and machining metal additively manufactured parts. The role requires producing finished, print-conforming components, performing basic dimensional inspection, and maintaining accurate documentation for traceability. The technician will ensure machined parts meet dimensional, GD&T, and surface finish requirements on schedule for both R&D and flight programs, upholding higher documentation standards for flight hardware. Key aspects include reducing scrap and rework through careful practices, applying judgment when machining metal printed parts, and early flagging of nonconformances. The technician will own the quality and accuracy of their work from raw stock or printed blank to the finished, inspected part.
