Reporting to the Day shift Surface Finishing Supervisor, as the Machine Shop Technician – Hand Hone/V-Hone working in the Surface Finishing department, you will be responsible for performing various honing duties in support of production requirements. Work Location: Oakville Facility, Ontario – Canada Shift Hours – Weekday Days (Monday - Thursday) 6:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Requirements

  • Typically; High school diploma, and 1 - 3 years of honing/machining experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize measuring equipment in support of quality requirements and read and interpret blueprints.
  • Demonstrated ability to read micrometers / Vernier's
  • Demonstrated ability to use Matrix and read & interpret latest MPS/APS
  • The selected candidate has to be eligible to work in Canada; successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate of Qualification (C of Q)
  • Demonstrated ability to operate and use an overhead crane in a safe manner

Responsibilities

  • ID and OD grinding of large chrome and HVOF plated aircraft components
  • Participate in lean initiatives (i.e. 5S, TPM, process improvement teams)
  • Communicate and co-ordinate priorities and process issues between operators and shifts
  • Observe and adhere to all safety policies and procedures
  • Use of Cranes to move parts
  • Support and promote continuous improvement, 5S activities and Standard Work Development in the cell.
  • Multi-task and operate other machines within the cell.
  • Can fully achieve the responsibilities of the position within a training time of 4-6 weeks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
