Collins Aerospace is looking to hire Machine Shop Technician - Boring Mill who will be reporting to the Machine Shop Supervisor on the Weekend Day shift. As the Machine Shop Technician - Boring Mill, you will produce aircraft parts to drawing while operating machines in the cell. Work Location: Oakville Facility, Ontario – Canada Shift Hours – Weekday Days (Monday-Thursday) 6:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Requirements
- Typically; High school diploma, and a minimum of 3 years of current Boring Mill machining experience and/or 5 Axis Machining experience
- Experience utilizing measuring equipment in support of quality requirements
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
- The selected candidate has to be eligible to work in Canada; successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP

- Verbal and written communication skills (English)
- Demonstrated ability to operate and use an overhead crane in a safe manner
- 5 Axis Machining experience
Responsibilities
- Perform own manual set-ups by positioning and aligning tooling per set-up instructions using CNC programming language (G codes).
- Maintain tolerances by observing operation and making necessary machine offset adjustments, cutter changes and self-inspection (OSV-Operator Self Verification).
- Document actions in support of quality logs, communicate all discrepancies in machining to supervision and create Product Defect Sheets (PDS) as required.
- Perform work from set-up sheets, manufacturing sheets and drawings.
- Support and promote continuous improvement, 5S activities and Standard Work Development in the cell.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
