About The Position

The Machine Shop Support position at Alexandria Industries is responsible for ensuring the quality and timely fulfillment of customer orders. This role involves operating machinery, performing quality inspections, assembling parts, and maintaining a safe work environment. The individual will work closely with supervisors and team members to meet production goals and adhere to company initiatives such as 5S and QRM.

Requirements

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Word/Excel.
  • Ability to create work instructions.
  • Ability to read and follow instructions on manufacturing orders and blueprints.
  • Ability to perform quality inspections using precision measurement devices.
  • Ability to set up and run equipment.
  • Ability to perform proper deburring.
  • Ability to ensure parts are assembled according to customer specifications.
  • Ability to punch and stamp parts according to customer specifications.
  • Ability to package orders based on customer specifications.
  • Ability to meet delivery schedules.
  • Ability to operate CNC machines as needed.
  • Ability to perform basic machine maintenance.
  • Ability to follow company initiatives in 5S, QRM, and safety.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor, team members, and other shifts.
  • Ability to maintain department and company performance and production goals.
  • Ability to operate manual machining equipment as needed.
  • Ability to cross-train within the machine shop.
  • 1+ years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • A resume is required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety is always the number one priority and promote a safe work environment.
  • Read and follow instructions on manufacturing orders and blueprints.
  • Perform quality inspections using precision measurement devices.
  • Fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Review manufacturing orders to verify customer specifications.
  • Ensure all quality practices are followed.
  • Set up and run equipment to make modifications to aluminum parts.
  • Inspect parts to ensure they meet customer quality specifications.
  • Perform proper deburring to ensure no burrs or sharp edges are on parts.
  • Inspect parts to ensure no nylon residue is left after running through equipment.
  • Ensure parts are assembled according to customer specifications.
  • Punch and stamp parts according to customer specifications.
  • Package orders based on customer specifications.
  • Meet delivery schedules.
  • Operate CNC machines as needed and perform all tasks safely.
  • Provide machine shop support, including deburring, tumbling, packing, assembly, punching, and bending.
  • Perform basic machine maintenance, such as cleaning chips and monitoring coolant levels.
  • Follow company initiatives in 5S, QRM, and safety.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisor, team members, and other shifts.
  • Maintain department and company performance and production goals.
  • Operate manual machining equipment as needed.
  • Cross-train within the machine shop to learn and develop skills on various machines and equipment.
  • Perform all other related assignments as required.
