About The Position

Konik is hiring a hands-on Machine Shop Manager to lead a CNC machining operation while remaining actively involved in programming, setup, tooling, troubleshooting, and production. The position is located in Maple Lake, Minnesota, and is described as a direct-hire role with a salary of $100,000–$120,000. It suits an experienced CNC machinist/programmer who wants to lead a team while continuing to work on the shop floor.

Requirements

At least 4 years of manufacturing experience.
At least 3 years of CNC machine setup and operation experience.
CNC programming experience using Mastercam or similar CAM software.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D models.
Experience selecting tooling and setting up CNC equipment.
Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Experience using precision measuring equipment such as calipers and other inspection tools.
Good computer skills and ability to learn manufacturing software and systems.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work hands-on in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise day-to-day machine shop operations and production schedules.
Program, set up, and operate CNC machines for jobs of varying complexity.
Develop and modify CNC programs using Mastercam or similar CAM software.
Review 3D models, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
Select appropriate tooling, work holding, and machining processes.
Troubleshoot machining, equipment, and process issues.
Monitor production, quality, and delivery objectives.
Train, mentor, and develop machinists and shop employees.
Coordinate projects, schedules, and work priorities.
Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, processes, and efficiency.
Work closely with engineering, production, and other departments.
Maintain a strong focus on safety and shop standards.
Operate multiple machines or support production as needed.
