About The Position

American Pump & Drilling is seeking a self-motivated Machine Shop Helper / Laborer to join their growing team in Ucon, Idaho. This role involves assisting machinists and pump technicians with various shop duties, including the repair, rebuilding, and manufacturing of pump components. The position offers opportunities to learn new skills, cross-train in different departments, and maintain a clean and efficient work environment. No prior machine shop experience is necessary, but mechanical aptitude, dependability, and a willingness to learn are essential. Nice To Haves

• Previous machine shop experience
• Experience with machining equipment or CNC machines

Responsibilities

• Assist machinists and pump technicians with daily shop operations
• Load, unload, clean, and organize pump components and materials
• Disassemble and clean pumps, motors, and related equipment
• Prepare parts for machining, assembly, and shipping
• Safely operate forklifts, hoists, and other shop equipment (training provided)
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
• Follow all company safety procedures and wear required PPE
• Cross-train in multiple areas of the company, including our Machine Shop, Motor Rewind Shop, and Pump Service Department, with opportunities to assist on field service projects as skills and business needs allow
