About The Position
Join our manufacturing team and learn the basics of working in a machine shop. Our Machine Shop Assistant's support production by preparing materials and processing semi-finished production parts. We provide on-the-job training on equipment, tools and production workflow.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Good mechanical skills, including experience with work tools such as micrometers, calipers, gage pins, rulers, computers.
- Reliability, teamwork and a positive attitude.
- Detail oriented to handle small parts in large quantities.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to repetitively lift 30+ pounds.
- Willingness to learn and improve skills constantly.
Responsibilities
- Post-machining processing of parts, including use of processing equipment to clean and debur parts, hand tools for final cleaning of parts and general inspection of parts for good quality.
- Fill, Empty, and sort parts from small tumble and vibratory deburring machines.
- Bead blast parts and prep for outside finishing.
- Cut raw materials on a band saw.
- Deburr cut materials on belt sander.
- Assistance with shop maintenance
