About The Position

FG Clean Wipes, located in Westover Industrial Park in Chicopee, is a World Wide Mfg company that manufactures cleanroom wipes. The Machine Setup Operator operates manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently to produce products that meet customer specifications in a timely manner. The role requires making major machine adjustments during production to maintain quality, addressing minor machine issues, completing first-piece quality documentation, and directing small production teams. Other duties may be assigned based on business needs.

Requirements

• Textile background; experience in a textile cutting or spreading environment and/or operating slitter rewinders is sought.
• Communication skills, including the ability to listen and converse with coworkers.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders and perform basic math.
• Ability to remain on one's feet for the entire shift, with occasional twisting, bending, or lifting up to 40 pounds.
• Applicants for certain positions must have U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or other appropriate status in accordance with U.S. import and export regulations.
• Applicants are subject to drug testing as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run high-volume manufacturing equipment.
• Make major machine adjustments or changes during production runs to maintain quality.
• Diagnose and repair minor machine issues.
• Inspect products and complete quality documentation for first-piece sign-off.
• Lead and direct small production teams.
• Take general direction from a supervisor or department manager while making decisions independently when appropriate.
• Perform other duties and tasks assigned by a manager or supervisor based on business needs.
