About The Position

The Machine Setup Operator (Swiss) at Nolte Precise Manufacturing performs accurate CNC machine setups and runs production to quality and productivity standards. The role includes adjusting tooling and programs, instructing operators, and maintaining daily machine care and 5S requirements.

Requirements

A proven track record in operating and setting up CNC machines.
Ability to adjust tools and other machine components; adjust the position of workpieces or materials; set controls; and verify machine capabilities, material properties, and shop practices.
Ability to use tools, equipment, and work aids such as precision gauges and measuring instruments.
Ability to make timely decisions using logic and knowledge and skills acquired through experience and training.
Ability to gather information about job processes and report process improvements to management.
Shop math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, and percentages.
Advanced blueprint-reading skills, including GD&T.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform bending, twisting, crouching, and similar movements.
Ability to stand for a 10-hour work shift.
Ability to work with oils and coolants.
Ability to work in a noisy environment.

Nice To Haves

Technical school certificate or degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain acceptable setup standards for time and quality.
Provide cycle-time and job-layout corrections.
Run production to productivity and quality standards.
Transfer and/or download programs to CNC (Swiss) machine controls.
Follow layouts to arrange and set cutting tools properly.
Install work-holding devices, part ejectors, and other necessary accessories as specified.
Instruct operators or other workers in machine setup and operation.
Set up machines for other workers.
Complete daily maintenance and 5S standards.
Communicate work status.
Follow company policies and procedures, Vision, Values, Principles, and Philosophies.
Maintain acceptable attendance.
Perform specifically assigned tasks.
