The Machine Setter is responsible for performing machine and fixture change-overs and adjustments, inspecting first run parts, and conducting regular equipment preventative maintenance. This role involves coordinating work processes with the production supervisor and area operators, filling out log sheets and production tracking reports, and monitoring equipment to ensure the production line runs properly and meets standards. The Machine Setter also troubleshoots and repairs equipment problems, works closely with maintenance during breakdowns, performs LOTO on machines, and provides training and guidance to less experienced technicians and operators. Additionally, the setter maintains a clean and professional work area and may fill in for operators.
