About The Position

The Die Setter / Machine Operator is responsible for installing, setting up, adjusting, and maintaining dies and production equipment. This role also includes operating machinery, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring production meets quality and efficiency standards. This is a high-skill, hands-on position requiring mechanical aptitude, precision, and the ability to work independently. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Prior manufacturing experience (machine operation + basic maintenance)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with: Metal stamping, die setting, or fabrication equipment, Blanking, drawing, or body-making machines, PLCs or computer-controlled machinery
  • Ability to read engineering drawings/blueprints
  • Experience using precision measurement tools and gauges

Responsibilities

  • Install, adjust, and maintain dies and tooling on production equipment
  • Set up machines for new runs based on engineering drawings and specifications
  • Optimize setups for efficiency, quality, and production output
  • Recommend improvements to tooling and production processes
  • Operate assigned production lines and equipment
  • Perform quality checks, hourly production counts, and inspections
  • Clear jams and maintain continuous production flow
  • Perform routine machine servicing and minor adjustments
  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and basic repairs
  • Maintain tools and equipment in clean, safe working condition
  • Document maintenance activities and track schedules
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to: Product quality, Machine performance, Tooling integrity
  • Make real-time adjustments to maintain production standards
  • Read and interpret engineering prints and technical drawings
  • Use measurement tools and gauges to maintain tight tolerances
  • Follow all safety procedures and report unsafe conditions immediately
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Assist with inventory, material handling, and storage
  • Support team operations and additional duties as assigned
