About The Position

Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson Foods will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 180 days and are limited to 3 times of employment. The Machine Operator is responsible for the set up and operation of cooking equipment. Tasks include, but are not limited to; assemble and dismantle all equipment, monitor and ensure product quality making adjustments when necessary to maintain product specifications, and perform the necessary wash down procedures when needed. Must be able to inspect the equipment prior to set up for cleanliness and possible mechanical deficiencies. Must be able to troubleshoot machinery and keep supervisor and maintenance informed of any machinery which needs to be repaired. Must be able to complete all QA checks and documentation accurately to include completion of paperwork. Must be able to read and interpret work instructions and to adhere to all GMP standards and safety guidelines. Must maintain and submit proper paperwork including downtime sheets, weight sheets, raw material usage sheets, product loss forms, and updated specification sheets and HACCP documentation. Some paperwork will require basic math skills to include adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing. Must learn and follow all safety procedures related to the set up and operation of the equipment, including the lock-out/ tag-out procedure. Assure that batch, resource, and product change overs are segregated and marked. Team Member has an individual responsibility to report all possible deficiencies that could compromise food safety.

Requirements

  • Must have held a position for six (6) months within the past twenty four (24) months with same employer.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and weekends when required.
  • Must be willing and able to lift up to 80lbs when required.
  • Must be willing and able to work in environment with extreme temperatures ranging from 39F to 90F.
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate efficiently, all product forming and cooking equipment on the lines which they have received training while following all company policy and procedures.
  • Assemble and dismantle all equipment.
