About The Position

Sets up and operates a variety of machines and equipment simultaneously to machine aircraft parts. The predominant machine is a numerical controlled lathe/mill-turn. This role may require assisting higher and lower grade operators.

Requirements

  • Requires basic knowledge, skill, and judgement in the selection of tooling and cutters, procedures and sequence of operations, quality standards and output, and materials for machining operations.
  • Requires a minimum one year of diversified machines experience to include computer numerical controlled (CNC) lathes, production mills, and other related machines.
  • Must satisfactorily complete the Mach Opr B-CNC Mill Turn checklist within ninety (90) days of entering the classification.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge of blueprints and the use of precision measuring instruments.
  • Must be eligible to meet any requirements to access sensitive information controlled under U.S. export control laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Setup and operate machines and equipment to perform a variety of machining and finishing operations.
  • Setup and operate numerical controlled mills, production grinders, lathes, drills, saws and other comparable machines and equipment as required.
  • Perform deburring, blending, and grinding operations as required.
  • Maintain tooling, cutters, and material storage areas within the profile machining cell.
  • Responsible only for own work.
  • Performs other duties as required.
