Machine Operator- Electronics - SMT
About The Position
Pro-Active Engineering is hiring a Machine Operator to load and/or run Surface Mount Technology (SMT) placement machines, also known as Pick and Place machines, to manufacture printed circuit board assemblies. The role requires familiarity with SMT operations and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The operator reads and follows production documents, prepares boards, masks and applies glue, programs the screen-printer, loads feeders and magazines, checks components and part numbers against the bill of materials, and inspects products for defects while keeping accurate workstation counts. The role also includes preventative and general machine maintenance. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Knowledge of electronic components and equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Competencies include technical capacity, problem solving and analysis, results orientation, organizational skills, time management, attention to detail, and teamwork.
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field.
- Experience with Mydata, Mycronic, and ASM software.
Responsibilities
- Read and follow production documents to understand the project.
- Prepare boards, mask, apply glue, and program the screen-printer.
- Load feeders and magazines to optimize machine operation.
- Verify component and manufacturing part-number accuracy against the bill of materials (B.O.M.).
- Evaluate components for conformance and sufficient quantity.
- Perform preventative and general maintenance on machines.
- Keep an accurate count of product at the workstation and inspect every piece for defects.
