About The Position

The Machine Operator operates and maintains basic machinery independently at a defined rate while meeting quality requirements. The role involves learning the products being assembled and their business impact, continually developing knowledge of job principles and processes, safely handling materials, following machine-guarding and operating practices, communicating hazards or equipment issues to leadership, and cross-training or moving between stations as needed. The operator may occasionally provide basic training to other employees.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• One year of experience operating relevant machinery or equivalent.
• Ability to pass the basic assessment test.
• Ability to read and understand basic blueprints.
• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Ability to work professionally in a team environment.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to use applicable hand tools with precision.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to read blueprints and diagrams.
• Ability to use a tape measure in millimeters and inches, a dial caliper, and other measuring instruments as needed, and complete a Measurement Quality Check sheet.
• Ability to understand and execute basic standard machining procedures, interpret basic visual diagrams, and use basic hand tools.

• Safely handle materials using proper lifting techniques, including overhead hoists and lift tables.
• Understand machine guarding and safe machinery operation.
• Communicate hazards and equipment issues to leadership.
• Occasionally provide basic training to employees as needed.
• Cross-train in different areas within the department and flex to different stations as needed.
