About The Position

Second Nature Brands is hiring a Machine Operator for its Sanders Chocolate Factory in Clinton Township, Michigan. The operator is a member of the production team and helps manufacture and package Sanders products. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with weekday or weekend overtime as needed; the position is listed as 40 hours weekly. The starting rate is $17.50 per hour.

The role is in an indoor food manufacturing setting, where employees regularly work near moving mechanical parts and may encounter high noise levels. Company-provided personal protective equipment is required as appropriate.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• English proficiency.
• At least one year of machine operator experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
• Positive attitude.
• Self-directed.
• Ability to work well with peers and supervisors.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to keep production lines running efficiently.
• Ability to stand for 8–10 hours, walk up and down stairs, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in slightly elevated temperatures and wear company-provided personal protective equipment.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently monitor and operate various packaging machines.
• Ensure accurate code dates and weights and place products in appropriate packaging.
• Perform assigned preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and correct packaging machine problems.
• Clean packaging machines and maintain a clean work environment.
• Assist with setting up and changing over packaging machines.
• Work with the team lead and supervisor to meet performance targets.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Quality & Food Safety (Q&FS), and OSHA safety policies.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
